OT: Blogexplosion.com

Blog explosion...love it or hate it but it sure drives up your stat count...
One thing I hate about BE is that people can rate your blog without leaving any comments...it is one thing to be able to rate a blog anonymously but to do it without letting the blog owner know why you like or dislike the site is counter-productive...was the low rating because I spell bad or because there are ads on the blog...was the high rating because you like the content or the style?
So if you rate my blog please let me know why you rated me high/low so I can use your criticism to continue develop Moody Poker.

I don't hate this, but I'm mystified. The minimum surfing time is 30 seconds, and yet my average visit length is about 18 seconds. OK, I'm dumb, but I don't understand this. I'm suddenly getting over 100 visits a day on my sitemeter (up from the single digits I used to get), so I'm not complaining, but how can the average visit be less than 30 seconds?

Is my site so awful that everyone forfeits the half credit by clicking on the next number 15 seconds early?

You're right, it's not a nice thing to have someone give you a crap rating. I had someone give mine a 1, which is fair enough if I only knew why! I won't give up blogging, but at least I'd know what they objected to. I can guess what they didn't like, though I'll never know for sure.

I have yet to see too many blogs that completely suck, so if someone gives you a 1, they are just jealous... ;^)

I agree, I think there should be a comment section, I would love to know exactly what someone either likes or dislikes about my blog. I believe BE are reviewing the voting process and it may be that you will be able to see which users have rated your blog:

"BlogExplosion has received feedback from many members that the feature of being able to see who rated your blog and what those ratings were can actually deter members from rating other sites in the fear of getting negative reciprocal votes. For this reason BlogExplosion has decided to disable this feature for the time being and will be polling members shortly to have members vote on whether or not this feature should be offered moving forward and/or what's the best solution to address these concerns.

"The member poll to be held shortly will determine the collective vote of all members to either remove this feature entirely or at minimum the option for members to not have their votes revealed. Either way from this point forward BlogExplosion members will not be forced to reveal what they rated other member blogs."
